William Marsh Rice Jr.

William Marsh Rice, Jr., was the nephew of Rice University founder William Marsh Rice, and the namesake of Will Rice College. Over the course of his lifetime he was involved in the lumber business, a founder of the Union Bank and Trust Company, president of the Merchants and Planters Oil Company, director of the Guardian Trust and Company, and director of the Houston Land and Trust Company. He also served on the Board of Trustees of the Rice Institute.
