Academic Resources at Rice

The Office of Academic Advising helps you explore and take advantage of the many opportunities Rice offers to reach your future goals. Their Comprehensive Academic Advising Resources list has links to pretty much every academic resource of which you can think, including:

ESTHER is the website through which you register for courses, remove holds on your account, view course and instructor evaluations, access student records like your transcript, pay your Rice bills and more.

  • Registration Holds: tells you why you have a hold on your account and how to resolve it
  • When to Register: tells you when to register; for new students the time is based on the last six digits of your ID number and for continuing students it's based on the number of credit hours you have

The Department Websites have lists of professors, courses, research opportunities and more for each department.

Will Rice's Academic Fellows maintain a test bank in the library/parlor.

Leadership Rice prepares Rice students for leadership through classes, speakers, conferences and programs like the Summer Mentorship Experience and the Envision Grant.

The International Programs Office helps students find and prepare for Study Abroad programs through Rice, other universities or third parties.

The Office of Fellowships & Undergraduate Research encourages students to participate in research both at and out of Rice and helps students apply for scholarships and fellowships.

The Center for Career Development empowers students to achieve their professional goals through instructional sessions, recruiting events and individual advising appointments with Peer Career Advisors or CCD advisors. Will Rice's 2011-2012 PCAs are Angela Chen, Johnathan Meyers, and Albert Wei.

  • Professional Development Guides: help you with post-graduate planning, professional communication (including resumes) and employment research
  • RICElink: CCD's jobs and internship database; you can create a profile and upload a resume at which employers can look
  • iNet Internship Network: has internships listed by 11 universities around the country
